Some people don't care about others, and will NEVER stop hurting people. You can't teach them killing is wrong, all you can do is stop them from killing again, or hurting others. So killing them is an effective way of accomplishing this, after a fair trial of course. There's tests that go into the trial material presented that assess likelihood of the individual's being rehabilitated.
The death penalty is all about vengeance. Americans prefer to use the euphemism "punishment", but their actions speak louder than words. Not only with the death penalty but countless other crimes statistics have consistently shown the punishments the US demands don't work worth a damn as deterrents. If people want to demand vengeance that's their business, but all this political doublespeak and beating around the bush is just institutionalized denial.
To kill a kill is a punishment. Nothing else. It is a result of someone's action. A child lie and gets in timeout. You rob someone you go to jail. You murder then you die. Why do we murder a unborn baby? What they do wrong. Where are the cries for them.
I agree. He should be released to the citizens of Aurora, CO IMMEDIATELY.
The opportunity to teach people that killing is wrong (if possible) begins at the same time you teach them to use the toilet! If there is a teaching element to the death penalty it surly is NOT for the "dead man walking" and solely an opportunity to teach those contemplating those actions, of the penalty they deserve and should expect. Not the best way to change the world, but every little bit helps! Life hurts sometimes...Deal with it, or WE WILL!
To answer your question even after seeing your answer in your explanation over this question may be merely a repetitive exercise and may help to show the people that this way also an answer can be given for this question and pleases me to think that my answer also is among the other answers of all the members in the grand list of the answers of this question.
I hope he gets killed. It will be the death penalty used right. But he probably won't.
In the legal system, as in with Capital Punishment, they don't terminate the person's life to show that killing is wrong and this is what will happen to you if you do. They do it because I feel they have a similar ideology to equality, if you kill someone, you lose your own life. But still Capital Punishment is not a universal solution, reason why it is not accepted in every state in the US or in every country in the world.
