People "used to" have a lot of strange ideas. Racism, sexism and the strange habit of giving the label of "authority" to anyone but themselves are a few examples. Alas, though it may offend your sense of nostalgia, the human race evolves. Any so-called authority that only earns the label "authority" because of its ability to point a gun at someone or otherwise inflict punishment deserves to be mocked.
what's to respect ?
They do not respect it because they do not fear it.
Flat out- no accountability...no punishments ....way too much *** powdering and leniency
oh yea...we get sensored here..that was arse...
Because their corruptions have been slowly exposed and are still being exposed.
People actually believe everyone is equal on any subject and think that opinion is equal to knowledge.
hard to respect liars
Because kids are now taught from birth not to care what others think. Parents meant peer pressure and bully's and cliques. It was to impriove self-esteem, but it went beyond and includes police, teachers, and parents too. We have "improved" self-esteem to the point that people think only in terms of ME. No one else matters.
simple respect is earned and no one respects a thieving unfair bastard.
I have never had any respect for someone simply because they have some power over me. We all have to earn the respect of others. Lots of people with authority abuse that power and regularly confuse peoples fear of retaliation with respect.
cos that means that you have allowed
someone to have authority over you
which is an abomination
to any self respecting
clued up human being
no it is because we have been seen the turd through its septic system of justice.
Smash the authorities!
Not a question of middle grounds but of respect and legitimacy. Always question authority but also respect the efforts of others. It's not easy.
