Why do people provide pathetic miracles? Can't you come up with something better and testable?

I hear stupid miracles ALL the time. "Oh, my kid was diagnosed with a brain tumor but is now training for the Olympics!" Ok...great. What is more likely though, a misdiagnosis or a divine/invisible scalpel coming down one night while folks are unawares?

Let's see a real miracle! I want someone to come forward, be prayed for and grow a limb back that they lost. In fact, why not two? If that could be seen and tested, then i'd be impressed! Until then? Your miracles are lame.

A fact never went into partnership with a miracle. Truth scorns the assistance of wonders. A fact will fit every other fact in the universe, and that is how you can tell whether it is or is not a fact. A lie will not fit anything except another lie.

Pathetic miracles are all they have. A miracle will be accepted by those needing confirmation bias to shore up there weak psyches.

Science and religion cannot work together. You can't prove God with science.

And if you saw an act of God that could not be explained any other way, there would be no Faith. There would only be fact. God gave use free will so that we could either accept or reject him. If we have an indisputable miracle happen, it kind of removes our free will to decide if God exists or not.

Miracles are NOT lame.

Honey, miracles by definition aren't testable. If they were, they would be called something else.

I have had miracles happen in my life.

They are usually profound to the people they effect.

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead 4 days after he died. That had a profound effect upon the family and those who witnessed it.

He did it so people would know he had the power to do it. He knew that one week later he would rise from the dead himself.

Reason He was nailed to the cross was so his resurrected body would have the marks to help those who saw him KNOW who he was.

Thomas, an apostle needed "proof' Jesus told him those who believe on faith (us) would be greater blessed

My stepmother was 8 months pregnant with my baby brother when she fell with a severe stroke in the kitchen around 4:30am. As she is a night owl and would often be up still when my dad left for work in the morning, he thought nothing of her not being in bed when he woke. He showered, dressed and went into the kitchen for breakfast at 7am and found her... One thing I will never forget in my life was being told that she had no reason to be alive, let alone as functional as she is, having ultimately walked away with a couple of numb spots and a blind spot in her periphial vision and a perfectly healthy son...
Maybe not a lost limb, but her doctor called it a miracle, though I daresay he wasn't happy about passing the credit...

I got hit with 350 volts of electricity over 35 amps. That is enough to kill an elephant and cause me to burst into flames. I suffered no damage. That's right, none. Not 'no permanent damage' - I was good as new (a bit shocked lol) within 5 minutes.

Give me a good scientific explanation for that please.

Emptysoul30, allow me to differ with your opinion that "Science and religion cannot work together".

Look at quantum physics, the "physics of possibilities" as a brilliant quantum physicist whose name I can't remember once said.

To me, quantum physics is bridging the gap between the known and the unknown because it allows the possibilities of anything to be true. Quantum physicists are constantly trying to figure out how to prove their theories, but they still believe them to be true. This is an accepted science. Therefore, why must we be able to test "pathetic" miracles? Can we not just accept them as a possibility that might be able to be proven later?

sammylou4u, let me present life as a miracle.

Your being here is a miracle.

Life is filled with miracles everyday which we take for granted.

No one less than Albert Einstein was a believer in a more powerful being or god, if you will.

What is your view on life? Are you a physical being with a spirit or a spiritual being with a body?

What is your reality? Do you create it or is it created for you?

Can you effect change by your thoughts?

All of these things make me believe in miracles - the miracle of our minds to make things happen.

Sammylou, miracles are kind of personal. And no miracle should ever be considered lame. Then it isn't a miracle, it is merely a freak occurance.

There are those who could say that the mere fact that you are here, in this point in time might be a miracle. To think otherwise ...

Is there anybodey beside God who can create what God can create so people get confused who is God?

I see that a mulberry leaf is a merical!

mulberry leaves have the same taste
when eaten by silkworm it becomes silk.
when eaten by bees,it becomes honey.
when eaten by deer, it becomes musk.

Who have unified the income and diversed the outcomes. Its God the creator of everything!

"Consider this the next time you are looking up at the moon or the stars on a clear night; could you drop a drinking glass on the sidewalk and expect it would hit the ground and on impact it would not shatter, but it would divide up into little small drinking glasses, with iced tea in them? Of course not."

consider what it would be like if someone told us about a fast food restaurant operating itself without any people there? The food just cooks itself, flies from the kitchen to the table and then when we are done, the dishes jump back the kitchen to wash themselves. This is too crazy for anyone to even think about.

how could we look to the universe above us through a telescope or observe the cells in a microscope and then think all of this came about as a result of a "big bang" or some "accident"?
