Why do people send those religious chain e-mails?

Yes, I have faith, my faith is strong, My God loves me, even if I don't forward the e-mail to ten people. My faith is personal. But for some reason when I get the e-mail I feel like I am not showing my "Adoration or Respect" for the JOY. I Just got one of those and had to vent.
