Why do people think it's so odd to drive using 2 feet?

I've always used both feet to drive and when I mention that to people they find it odd. Any other 2 feet drivers out there?

If you aren't driving a manual vehicle its very dangerous to use both feet, one to break one for the gas. When a situation comes up where you have to break fast people who drive incorrectly using both feet will typically step on both the break and the gas. It's just not a good thing to make a habit...I'd try to break that habit if I were you, or go buy a vehcile w/ manual transmission

I use two feet when I drive manual, but I think everyone does. As far as automatic, it just isn't safe.

My dad used to drive with both feet. It would seem like common sense to use the right foot to accelerate and the left to brake. I don't think it's odd, but I fairly sure it's not the norm. When I took driver's ed, I was taught to drive with only the right foot. Perhaps it's just a matter of having better motor control over your dominant side, like with writing or baseball.

i think the biggest reason is because, under the right circumstances, it's incredibly dangerous.

There are some reasons why not to do this. You can have your foot on both brake and accelerator at once. This can wear down your brakes, cost you more in fuel etc. But I think the main reason is that if you get into a manual, you will instinctively drive 'wrong', and this woudl be very dangerous.

it's pretty hard to maneuver the clutch if you're only driving with one foot.
