Why do people who are not christians care so much about christians believing in God my understand having "free will"

ETC.... is a big part of it from what I have read in the Bible, I think. And everyone has their own, for the most part~ speaking from myself only, I don't try to push it on anyone, ever! I believe we all have our own paths to take, there's so much you get from it just in choosing it for yourself but what I do not understand is why would someone who doesn't believe in God care enough to be "anti" about it?

Is This A Good Question? (5)

I think a lot of people hate the Message of the Bible, so they transfer that hate onto people who believe the Bible.

Thank you for your reply, but it's so many different messages about many different subjects all assured from many different people, messages given to them from God and accounts of the happenings at that time. Yeah I so agree (about people hate the message of the Bible) but do you think because of how bad of a hardship it was for those specific people at that time that the message it would send out would be so significant and for so long running like it has been? why? (I hope that makes sense, I couldn't think of any other way to put it)

As a Christian i believe the Messages came from people inspired by God to give such Messages. Or record such happenings (many of them against the will of God) To me the Message has endured so long Because it has been assisted by God to endure for near 6000 years. The Bible contains Messages compiled over 4000 years and has lasted near 2000 years. And even in todays "technological" age the power of the Message is so strong that it still moves people to belief. The Message still resonates within people as truth.

I have no idea. I do understand why Christians might try to convert others, (not condone, just understand). They believe that we who aren't Christians are doomed, so they are trying to save our souls. But I don't understand why people who don't believe in any of it care so much that there are those who do.

I know that a lot of atrocities are committed in the name of God (by all religions, not just Christians) but non believers are not all peace lovers either. So, what is their objection to someone believing in something?

I honestly believe in *you do your thing, and I'll do mine and if we can respect each others' right to believe as we do, things will be fine.*

The nagging of other catholics Christians ect happened to them at some point and most of the time it was so bad that they just hate them because they know whats coming that or they know you cant trust them when they say something.

not all of them are like this but form what i see most are.

Because Christians vote too and often support policies that go right along with their bronze aged book of fairy tales. Because when Christians were the strong majority they happily persecuted executed controlled anyone who didn't go along with their beliefs and strangely sometimes people who did. Christianity was forced to grow up not too long ago, it was only a few generations ago really. And as long as ridiculous beliefs go unchallenged the possibility of problems increases since the armies of Christians have always been stupid guillable indoctrinated folks and their is not a shortage of them.

The world will hate you because you are not of this world. If you were, it would love you.

Thank you for your reply, I think I get that and see I've had a philosophy about that, that I have had for many many years as I have always said, "I came into this world with nothing and I will probably go out of it the same way". it's not what you got, but what you do that maters. Growing up, I am the oldest of 5 kids, so I never had anything growing up but I found so much joy in the things I/people I am with, DID. And the way people would look at me when I would give them something, or do something for them, I have seen so many of those in my life I wouldn't trade the feeling I got from that for anything in the world! I never cared about myself I just always had trust in God to take care of me and to date God hasn't failed me yet, ever. I have never known not one day of my life without Love in it.

Yes, we're all here to grow and evolve spiritually. The material physical world will perish, as well as our physical bodies. So only take from the world what you can store up spiritually :)

I am not anti your right to belive in God.

I am anti those persons who use "God" to justify the legal loss of my right to own my own body(abortion/contraception), or a LGBT to own his/her own body or have other equal rights in our society, to deny an innocent child to be adopted by a non-christian or a gay couple (thus condemning the child to be thrown out on the streets without $ or resources on their 18th birthday), to encourage wars and support of war-mongers like Israel, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

If Christians would go into the voting booth remembering the Golden Rule, then they would hopefully think that before they support a candidate that wants to re-institute prayer to their heathen God in schools, how they would like it if another majority wanted to require YOUR children to pray to a heathen god, or how they would feel if their religion's sacraments were illegal, or how they would feel if their children were beiing required by law to support lies that are called education, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.

Christianity has changed very much since the 1980s. It's not even recognizeable as the Christianity I was brought up in. I would be ashamed to be called a Christian today. Never have I seen a group of people (since the KKK) who are so mean, intolerant, arrogant, mean, tyrannical, judgmental, and cruel.

Chrisitianity should be your guideline for YOUR behavior. It does not allow you to be my judge, jury, and executioner.

And tell xtians to stop telling me that I am going to burn in hell. Jesus never said such a thing. That's a christian invention. Jesus said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, theirs is the kingdom of heaven (also)."

I don't have anything against the wondrously beautiful teachings of Jesus, but I can't stand Christians. They are too cruel.

Thank you for your reply, I recently had one of those moments myself, told my husband how aggrivated I felt because something I wanted to do and didn't effect anyone else in either way (whether I did it or not) had anything at all to do with them. I got mad, and then he tells me, well thats just the way it is, and I felt it doesn't have to be. I believe to where there is a will there is a way regaurdless of using God for it, and if it was meant to be done the way to do it will be there. OK now equal rights, I am so all for that! I do not understand tho on how it can fall on Christians specifically to be blamed for so much, someone who doesn't believe in God can be just as much of a control freak on just wanting to tell people what to do and lets not forget too, there are those who like being told what to do and let them. Then at times too the devil (master of lie, kill, steal and destroy) as well can use his people (when I was younger I got freaked out once by, at that time called a "cult" of people I accidently witnessed because I was hanging around the wrong kind of people worshipping the devil), remember he can quote the Bible, has really scared me before. And more than once in my life. The one thing I am so happy about is in not having children. When I was younger I said I was never having children because I didn't like the ways of the world. But I helped from such a young age in raising so many that I find if you love a child, do right by it, constantly take the time and TEACH especially their Faith you can't go wrong. I never had parents who did that for me, but if I were to have children, my life would be devoted to doing just that for them, because I would care like that. Anyone who wants to turn their children over to someone else to raise will only have themselves to blame for what kind of adults come out of it. Your right about that, but I am scar'd there because of the wrong way I was done back in the 80's by a church I never paid enough attention about them since, until a few years back now I see one about every 500 ft. I'm Sorry not meaning to be writing a book, I am kind of jumping all around to be commenting on so much you've said here, I relate to you pretty well because of so much I agree with but have the last point to make here. I feel all people can be cruel, these days just seems like there's so many more than has ever been. I love some Jesus for sure, was so glad while I was in church I got that understanding about his teachings at a very early age. That's why prayer helps so much for me, anytime I have been done wrong, or someone has been mean to me I just pray blessings for them, lol usually through clutched teeth but I do it and then ask for forgiveness for being ugly. I have been mad at God in my life before, we all go through it. For me mainly because of other people I love both my sisters had babies that died on them and it hurt, took time and healing the comfort we get from knowing their with God now replaces that loss. Trust me it helps.

I was a Christian for 30 years. How different Christianity is today. How cruel as I see what it has done to you. My life is 1,000 times better now that I have left the cruelty behind. You don't have to leave Jesus' teachings behind to have your life turn around. Just leave the teachings of your church behind - because your church was founded by Paul and is based on the teachings of Paul - and Paul was OPPOSED to the teachings of Jesus. Paul was the antichrist who founded the christian church. Paul and Jesus have NOTHING in common.

Thank you for a reply, well Christians I would think, speaking from my own experience with it being secure/sure of their belief in God, I am doing it right would be at all times working on myself and my personal relatiosnhip with God. People convert because they want to, as far as I know I don't think anyones being forced into it. Again having your free will, from what I have read about, in the Bible is a very big deal =)

It's human nature. You can find the same thing in Christians. That is why there are denominations. Even Christians can't agree on everything.

Thank you for your reply, Good point, Human nature, that thought hadn't crossed my mind till you mentioned it. Yeah my being puzzled about this just comes along the lines of just why Christian are pinpointed out? See I have the consideration of the aspect now of other denominations, I am just not closed minded (I don't now nor have I ever want to live like that, you just never know of something you might miss out on being so restrictive of yourself) I embrass diversity myself. Ahh people agreeing on everything all the time with the total consideration of the mass, lol in a perfect world? I personally adopted the lets agree to disagree and move on from it. But where the lives of people are effected in any way I do not think should be taken lightly.

Because Christians are evil and deserve to be ridiculed. How DARE they pray.

The people blowing themselves up and oppressing women in the Middle East with a Holy Book that condones beating women and such, which many follow...and a belief that any woman that marries into the faith has to either convert or act subservient to her husband and admit the superiority of his faith..that's ok, somehow.

I'm a christian, but I have always hated how the bible seemed to have put men on a pedestal whereas women are to be submissive. I would like to think I have a mind of my own, free will of my own, feelings, and desires.

I don't know many Christians who act as if God gave men the right to be superior.
