They are pest and can produce by the hundreds in no time. They have up to twenty-two babies in a litter. Consider those twenty-two having twenty-two of their own and etc. The tails are to catch then in the traps in case they are too wise to move quickly. The tail gets caught on the trap and it's dead. There is a reason for everything and I hope this is theirs.
