Why do religions that support love cause so many wars?

Because some religions are evangelical. They believe that theirs is a private club which makes them better than everyone else. Their faith is the TRUE faith, Their god the TRUE god. Their private club is going to heaven and no one else is.
Any religion that fosters that kind of disregard for others, encourages war because they see other people as "less than" themselves.
Christians believe that the Buddhists are all heathens. The Mormons think that the Christians are all doomed. On the other hand, Buddhists, Hindus, most indigenous people believe we belong to one big non-exclusive club.
THOSE are examples of truly loving religions.Like (2)

Tribalism. Also, the religions you're referring to - the Abrahamic faiths, unless I miss my guess - aren't all about love. They're violent religions with persecution complexes and a gross fixation on dominance. This isn't true of some strains of Buddhism or Jainism, and in those religions the tribalism is suppressed.

Religions don't cause wars, people do. People can and do use whatever reasons they can to start wars. They will even manufacture reasons for war, if necessary.

It's not religion that causes wars, it's people's greed and rigidness that causes wars.

Its not the religion that does that its greed and the fuel we supply for it. Its people's selfishness alone that cause wars.
