my printer cost me $45 and the cartridges both are $44.90 I have a HP and it don't work right have the time. I'll never get another one of them. I think the company simply makes cheap printers so that the cartridges cost more cause they make more money that way.

Do not refill. I did that on my HP, and found out that there is a copper seal on the back of the cartridges, which eventually wears thin. Finally, it just lets go, and the ink goes all over the inside of your printer. HP chided me most severely, but they cleaned it all up, and charged me shipping to and fro.

In your next life, purchase a printer like Kodak, that has cheap replacement ink cartridges and cheap paper. I have Kodak now, and the black cartridge at Staples was $12.59.

I don't know, but I just had mine refilled. It cost only 26 dollars for both. The colour is good enough for my purposes.
