Why do so many male cross-dressers go for the OTT look?

This isn't a diss. Nothing wrong with it, of course. And I know plenty of men dressing as women probably don't go OTT, but just wondering about the ones that do. Is it a tradition in the cross-dressing community (draq queen emulation?), or is there something about the look that they like?

I'm not hip to the jive of you yung'ins ._. Perhaps they feel as if they have to cover up their manliness and going all out over the top is the only way to do that?

Maybe they just figure, "If I'm going to do this, I don't wanna look average, I wanna look fricken extraordinary"! I don't know...

yeah and also, many women don't really treasure the fact that they are a woman, and they don't really see their bodies as beautiful etc, but people who dress up as women appreciate the woman's body and so they like to dress up extravagantly

I'm a shemale crossdresses and I work since more than two years as cleaning lady and maid for my Mistress. I only wear strict maid uniform and apron useful for my chores. I hate these stupid sissydresses and/or be dressed as a bimbo or like a top model. I'm just dressed as maid, it's my life and I like that !

I agree.. We are all so different and rather so similar... But I'm born as, and I like my new life... No matter what people think about me ... a malemaid... lol
