Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will clean them?

It's so weird that you go to a gas station, and you go to the bathroom, and it's locked....so, they have to get a key....then, when you get in there, it's disgusting....What is it they are afraid you'll do in there? Clean it? There's not much any one could steal....it doesn't make much sense to me.

Lol. That's funny. But the reason they usually do that is to make sure some sort of criminal doesn't hide in them to wait for a rape victim, murder victim or a chance to rob the store -- that's my understanding.

That is why people lock their houses... They are afraid that some people, they don't know, will bring them more stuff they don't need!!

I assumed so they could monitor who comes and goes.

lol that's cute! maybe someone would clean them! lol No it probably has to do with security & to prevent anyone sneaking in to wait a rob or murder - take away their hiding place.
But that was a cute comment unicorn!

Like other people have said its to prevent attacks etc. They probably got tired of finding bodies. What I want to know is why the Petco in my town has locked doors. Its not like the bathroom is outside...weirdos!

Because they are for patrons only and the people who work there also have to clean them. It's also to slow you down so they go to the peep hole and check you out when you go.
