Our fellow man just isn't very entertaining. What does he do? Eat and sleep.

It is the rarity of the skill, and the willingness of people to pay top dollar to see those skills in action.
As a teacher, it blows to barely be making it, and to have people think we are lazy and only work 8-4 and have holidays and summers completely off. But I also get that there are hundreds of thousands of teachers (with varying skill levels) and only a few hundred NBA players - and no one is going to but a 150 jersey with my name on it or pay 75 to get to see me explain gerunds to a group of freshmen Like (1)

We live in a very self indulgent world, every man/woman out for himself/herself. We have become very desensitized to what others may be going through, or are going through. If it doesn't concern us, we have no tolerance to try to understand or show some compassion. And the other thing is, we really don't want to know all the facts and truths of this world. We just want what we want, when we want it, and screw anyone else. There are very few true saints in this world. We want instant gratification, instant everywhere, at whatever costs.
