I wish I knew. Some are just so miserable, lonely and angry that they take it out on each other. And it is generally the ones who have no career goals and nothing pleasant at home. There's a power struggle for a pecking order.
It's comparable to the way men behave---in prison.Like (2)

Jealousy. Once my supervisor made me her assistant and one of the other ladies thought I was going to be bossy. I had no intentions of doing any such thing!

because they have evil little minds and need to get a life of their own. A job I loved I quit because of women like this-it ruined my life. They had me sleeping with my gay male friend. he was just helping me when my mother and brother were dying.. I quit talking to any of them

I am a woman and I hate a female boss. I can deal with a man better than I can a woman. As far as women co-workers, they usually just bore me to tears and I try to avoid them.

Because they feel they have to be better than men. That usually means they have to keep a rigid control over every aspect of their job. They also feel more threatened by a female, who is just as good as they are.

Women treat each other like crap in general. Ever watch "The Apprentice"? The woman's team ALWAYS ends up splitting into factions and infighting.
*shrug*
