    They must have the expertise in the field but it doesn't mean they apply it when it comes to them.
    It can also be, it is their partner who is at fault

    ok I didn't see the inside comment, that makes much more sense than the original question. And it would be nice if they have a good marriage of their own but it's not always the case

    There is no such thing as a marriage 'councillor'. But you might try marriage 'counsellor' (US counselor)

    Some people cannot solve their own probs, but can give good suggestions for others. For example borderline personality people can give solution to most of ur emotions probs, but can help themselves
