The church lies about 18 inches from your mind to your heart.. That's where God dwells..<br />
<br />
Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, anymore than standing in your garage makes you a car..

I do most of my praying at home. If God can't hear them from here, it won't do me much good to go to church.

Best Answer

thing is, churches have these special prayer-absorbent walls, which means there's more chance that god will hear them above ALL the other prayers being said across the world. if you say a prayer outside of a church, then they'll just blow away in the wind because only churches have these specialised walls.

I don't go to church to pray, I go to church to learn about the bible, and to meet people who are walking a path leading in the same general direction so we can help each other along as we stumble. We can encourage, comfort, support, and rejoice with one another... I pray to God when I am alone.... Sometimes I feel God when I am in church...other days I think he took the day off to go play Golf. Same with when I pray at home. The difference is that in Church you have multitudes of faithful hearts reaching out to God where at home you have a more intimate conversation.

God hears prayers anywhere. Church is not a prayer safe zone. If i knew verses I'd share them.

'No, Jesus taught us how to pray. Jesus denounced religious leaders in his day who prayed hypocritically; they cared only about making a show of their piety. He said that such men would have “their reward in full,” meaning that they would receive only what they wanted most, the attention of men, but not what they needed, God’s hearing ear. (Matthew 6:5-8) <br />

Jesus Teaches About Prayer<br />
<br />
5 “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites. They love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners and pray loudly. They want people to see them. The truth is, that’s all the reward they will get. 6 But when you pray, you should go into your room and close the door. Then pray to your Father. He is there in that private place. He can see what is done in private, and he will reward you.<br />
<br />
7 “And when you pray, don’t be like the people who don’t know God. They say the same things again and again. They think that if they say it enough, their god will hear them. 8 Don’t be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

AMEN, that's what I would have quoted. It's so much more effective praying directly to God, He's so much more effective when it's just between you and him.........but I also love praying laying hands on people, the prayer of many is cool too as long as it's sincere towards God.

Not a requirement but they have louder microphones.

Who ever told you that you can only pray in church? Really, aren't small children taught to say their prayers before hopping into bed. They aren't in church. <br />
<br />
Not that I pray, anywhere at all, but I do know that I have seen people teaching their children to pray at home; I've see people sitting beside a loved one's bedside in hospital, and they are praying. Prayers are said beside graves.

The church is a useless **** institution meant to brainwash the masses and control them. All religions are garbage. God can hear you from anywhere. Jesus, who btw is a myth, lived NOTHING LIKE Christians do. The Vatican has 36 billion dollars while people starve. Do you think Jesus (again, a myth) would have done that? <br />
<br />
Mark 10: 21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”<br />
<br />
Matthew 19:24 'Again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter heaven'<br />
<br />
Yet how do they live? Religion as a whole is total crap. I think God is whatever started the universe, using math and logic, perhaps with a plan, perhaps not. But I do know one thing for sure: Anyone who tells you they know for a fact what God is is talking out of their ***, if not outright lying. The smartest thing anyone ever said when asked what God is, was 'I don't know'.
