The wood smells nice when it burns. Ever try burning a plastic bag?

Because it's illegal not to pay for a fancy funeral. You can't just throw grandpa in a dumpster.

So we can give money to people who want to take advantage of our very sad state. Dying is expensive, that sucks.

Because pine burns easier than human flesh. Haha..kidding.

For the sake of the people going to the funeral..funerals aren't for the dead..like my dead uncle would care if his hair was in order or he was dressed nice..and what kind of flowers were there..funerals are for the living. If they want to put a memory in a box..so be it.

In the state of New Mexico you do not. My dad died their. He was creamated and we did not have to buy a coffin. It does seem a bit silly since the coffin will just be burned.

Family members and friends are not in attendance at the cremation. The deceased is in an urn during memorial/funeral. I think it is ridiculous to have to buy a pine box just to burn it with the deceased.

Because of the way the oven is built. The coffin is pushed (slides) into the oven. It doesn't matter what the coffin is made of.....they can all be pushed and burned into the furnace.

I agree, it's ridiculous. I want a cardboard coffin & if im cremated (more than likely; burial's dear), i don't want a stone, or for my ashes to be scattered - i want to go into an urn and be kept on the mantlepiece. Seriously, i do - they can sit me in front of the telly when Corrie comes on! I also want them to play The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire, as the curtains close, but Ste has put his foot down about that particular request - says it's bad taste, but i think killing a tree just cause you're dead is even more so. Also want Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead played, lol.
