    Nope. I need people to see into my soul, my very being, my very essence, when they look and the picture, and by using the widening eye technique, I open up the universe through my eyes.

    Actually, I think a lot of people do that so they won't blink when the flash goes off.

    i actually think the majority of people can withstand a flash without adjusting their eyes according to it. i have light colored eyes and im sensitive to light. and i dont have to change anything to adjust to a flash.

    Yes. It is. The sudden burst of light is damaging to eyes - unlike you seem to disclaim in your comment in the answer above - if a flash doesn't bother your eyes you should be seen by a professional to check to light blindness.
