Why do you wait till the day you become rich?

All people need mutual love and mutual asistance, why don't we practice it now? This is asked, because many people say that they cannot help other people because they are not rich. So, how much money will you get to make you a charitable person?

You can be rich in so many forms that it is a cope out to say that you can not help until one is rich. The to help is now because aside from it all it's because you can. Start with your neighbor and progress from there.

I'm not wealthy, but I believe I'm rich because I'm already happy with what I have. And this kind of contentment makes it easy for me to help others in any way I can, be it giving out goods or comfort.

I've seen people who earn much less money than I do be happy to lend a hand to others in need, so I have no excuse for not doing that.

I don't...I am not rich with money, but I still volunteer my time with two different organisations on a regular basis.

I don't need money to be charitable. I work at a horse riding assistance ranch where we help children with physical and mental disorders using horses as therapy. I also feed the homeless every christmas and I clean cages at animal shelters often. i also work in community storehouses to help organize for people in need. Money is no reason not to help others

I agree with all of the other comments. I do know some people who say they are "too poor" to do anything to help others. (One time in college, I was in charge of a food drive and asked my roommate if she would contribute. She told me she was too poor. So I said, "You don't even have 50 cents to buy a can of corn?") However, I think people are using that as an excuse not to do anything. Why should they drop a dollar into the Salvation Army bucket when they NEED that dollar for... something? I don't understand that mentality.
