Just saying, 'people' is not everyone who needs help, some of them are children, or disabled, what if it were you? That's not a dig, just a reminder...
There aren't many jobs out there-kids get hungry.
If only we could care for each other instead of needing to 'make' people give...
taxes are a 'new' thing, 1913, only less than half our country's existence-have 'they' taxed the people (go ogle ;-}
social security is almost empty...we will not get any.
federal taxes are all going for war anyway, your state taxes usually pay for aid, which they can barely do, as poor as all our states are having had their pockets picked by governors, contractors, and the mob.
food stamps put the tax money right back into the economy, to retail stores who profit from the sale of food.
No one wants to be on aid, I imagine...it's just what they have to do.
Whew *done defending the defenseless*
thanks for this opportunity to answer a great ?
I for one, do not!
The United States Constitution defines the roles and responsibilities of the US Federal Government. The Bill of Rights, further Constrains the power of the Federal Government and guarantees the basic rights of our citizens.
In 1909, the Sixteenth Amendment was ratified enabling the Federal Government to impose a graduated (progressive) tax on individual income. However, there has been a legal debate ever since over whether or not "Wages" are in fact income. Furthermore, while the 16th Amendment gave the Federal Government the right to collect an "Income Tax" it did nothing to change the basic limitations on the power of the Federal Government. Why is it today, our Federal Government is able to spend so much to accomplish so little while violating the Constitutional constraints on its power?
Many (Most?) of the powers the Federal Government exercises today, and many (most?) of the Federal Government's spending falls outside the enumerated powers of our national Government and therefore are considered by many of us as unconstitutional.
Liberals like MyLoserAlterEgo do not care about Constitutional law or limits on the Federal Government. They seek to control private commerce to impose "Fairness," defined by them as equality of outcome on our nation rather than equality of opportunity, which is guaranteed by our Constitution. A fair tax would tax all citizens at an equal rate in an equal manner without the special provisions, deductions, credits, exemptions and such that enable some people to beat the system while others pay far more than their fair share. A Fair tax would be used only to fund those things that only the Federal Government can do and only those things that are within the enumerated powers of the Federal Government rather than the social engineering liberals like to use taxation to achieve.
Furthermore, a fair system would not take from those who work and create wealth to give to those who do not, except for fair provisions to take care of those who cannot care for themselves instead of those who choose not to care for themselves.
In my experience, those who most use "Orwellian Speech" are Democrats who know what they are trying to accomplish is outside the powers granted to the Federal Government by the US Constitution, and do not care. It is the Democrats, who instead of using the power granted by the Constitution to Amend the Constitution, use legislative courts to obfuscate the law and to interpret "the penumbra" of the Constitution to change the law of our land.
Its about time the silent majority in American become silent no more. Its time for Americans to stand up and say NO MORE to politicians, Democrats and Republicans alike, who take from us what we have worked hard to earn, and dole it out to a citizenry dumbed down through public education to buy our votes and thereby impose upon us tyranny and slavery to a Government grown too powerful.
"Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
"Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
Don't get me started...LOL
I don't mind helping people but I belive in helping those that help themselves..
such complicated issue, and also the american way. if we didn't help those in need, those who need social security benefits, there would be even more crime and drugs on the street, i believe. there are truly some people who cannot work because of disabilities. i know first-hand, my exboyfriend needed social security because of a myriad of health issues.........and he just died, so theres one less person who is miserable because he can't support himself like the rest of us.
I don't want to they just make me do it,,,,
Because this is America and that’s how we do it here!
Maybe because Im greatfull I can still walk on my own 2 legs that God gave me,and not in the need of help.If I was sure it was going to people in need, anmd not some greedy old man who dosn't need help to sit on his ***,and make stuped laws, and blow hot air all day.
people who are on some form of assistance don't "live large" in fact, here in canada, a family of 2(i adult,1 child) gets about $1200 a month, but the average 2 bedroom apartment goes for around $900 + hydro + telephone(which you are required to have), then there's transportation(you are required to look for work daily), then there's clothing - oh yes - then there's that little thing called food! many people from all walks of life could find themselves in this situation. i think some of your tunes would change if you found yourself there.
I assume you're refering to politicians.
