Why does shopping make us feel good?

Yes, I realize this is not true of everyone.
Why does it make us feel good wasting money on things we don't even neeeeed? Ppl are starving all over the world, yet we buy our selves $1200 Gucci purses. Or $500 golf shoes. Or whatever....

Cause we can buy something we like for ourselves & material goods always make us feel good , material or not it's just one of those guilty pleasures too and gives sometymes sentimental value

Because of your DNA.
As a woman, you posses the "gatherer" portion of the Hunter/Gatherer DNA legacy. You derive satisfaction from procuring items, even though you may not need them for survival, as your female ancestors did a few million years ago as they collected berries and nuts, etc. This is buried deep inside the most primitive parts of your female brain, and will be there for thousands of years to come.

I felt offended for a second, the realized it's true....haha Seeing how much my 4 yr old daughter wants to learn about plants and what is safe to eat in the woods is so amazing!

It's another drug like, church, sex, or..drugs. We get high and we're always chasing that first high feeling.
