Why does the Air Force One look like a mansion in the sky in all the movies? Does it look like that for real?

I mean ... they are in the air, but there is no turbulence. There are stairs and basements. Library, conference room, bedrooms, shopping mall, Starbucks, walmart, a bar. Like how much more can possibly fit? I know its just a movie but what the heck man?

It's an enormous aircraft that is fully capable of functioning as the White House during the President's travels or during an emergency, so I have a feeling that those depictions are pretty accurate.

hmm ... why do you think all movies (air force one, independence day, 2012) show the plane as a flying mansion?

Was Air Force One even shown in Independence Day? I don't remember that. Anyway. It's a large plane with multiple levels, but it doesn't look like a mansion at all.
