...Why does the bloke always have to propose marriage?

WHY Shouldn't the Shiela come out and ask HIM to marry ?

Excellent question... I guess he doesn't... we're culturally programmed for the man to propose, but you're absolutely right there is no good reason for it in today's world. However, does that mean the guy gets the really expensive ring and the girl gets a simple wedding band? Does he get to pick out all the china patterns and floral arrangements for the wedding? I guess I'm really glad I was the one who proposed... as my Dad told me... 'Son, just make sure you bathe, shave, and show up on time the rest is her problem'.

That'd be cool to see. I wonder if the guy would get all flustered, cry with joy, or run to show his ring off to his guy friends.

I donno, but I think that would be pretty cool to be proposed to by a woman. Actually it would be kinda weird, hmm. Its all tradition.

Bloody good question... Lol, I don't think the guy actually HAS to ask the girl. In fact, in Ireland there's a special day each year where the girl asks the guy. There supposed to anyway! :)

If up to me and if I were unmarried and I fell in love with a man I would propose co-habitation but marriage would simply be out of the question even if God himself ordered me to do it.
