Because sex sells. Its an awful truth. The media has almost turned women into less than human. After being bombarded with images of women as mere sexual objects, a lot of us have bought into it. Thus perpetuating it even more. It's a horrific spiral. Society needs a reality check.

Same thing with men. Why does the media portray men as uncontrollable horny beasts?

Best Answer

you are supposed to be the counterpart of women being "objects" and that is also degrading to men

Best Answer

Exactly. "Supposed to be" but in reality not all men are like this and not all women are objects too. However it isn;t good for the kids and teens :/

I think this is much of the cause of brokenness in families in this country and around the world. ...people are taught to be unhappy with somebody who is normal, and not a supermodel

Best Answer

Because the media's a money maker, and sex sells. Basically, enough of us buy into and perpetuate it that they get away with it continuing.

They're stuck in the 50's???

It's up to we women to change that then ... and I thought at this point, we were doing that.

Err, I think they are doing that men as well these days. They are losing their credibility and relevance, so they are getting pretty desperate.

can you explain? they are losing their credibility and relevance...?

I mean that the media in general is not objective anymore, so that people don't believe them as much as they used to. Nowadays, you can pretty much guess that MSNBC is NEVER going to criticize a democrat and Fox News will NEVER take a republican to task. So, that means that people will not expect either one of them to do any investigative journalism except of those they don't like. Newspapers are the same way, of course, probably worse. So, more and more they only way they can compete for attention is to do "fluff pieces" like running a story about a new movie opening or promoting products for sale like the new iPhone. One of the consequences is that they know "sex sells" so they try to sexualize things as much as possible. If they can work one of the Kardashians or Ryan Gosling into ANY story, they can't resist doing it. It's only a matter of time before we get crap like, "What a bikini-wearing Kim Kardashian thinks about the global banking system." LOL

Money. Welcome to fiscal feudalism. It's a system built on thinking your life is the only thing worth anything and establishing a pecking order with the most selfish on top.
