Really? It totally works on me. Maybe you're going to the wrong person. However, while it hasn't made my life perfect, when I listen to the audio on my mp3 pla<x>yer, it makes a HUGE difference for me.
If you're in the Los Angeles area, try Sasha Carrion. (Just google her.) I'm just an ordinary person who suffers from depression and anxiety and I go to see her all the way in Santa Monica. It's a long drive for me, but she is very talented...very well educated, and very sensitive to who you are and what you need.
However, I think you need to know what you need to change in your life before you go to see a really good hypnotherapist, like Sasha Carrion. Her methods of bringing you to peace for me have been 500% more effective than traditional cognitive therapy methods, in which I no longer believe. Also, my Harvard-educated psychiatrist believes she is helpful, and he wrote a letter in support of her therapeutic effects upon me, so that I can use it to apply to my husband's flexible spending account.
Unlike what another person stated here, who believes in traditional psychological counseling, as a "been there..done that" experienced "user" of traditional counseling methods, I am telling you that traditional therapy, for me, was not necessarily a huge waste of thousands of dollars...because progress of any sort is good...However, after having seen all kinds of cognitive therapists, the progress I experienced was a complete realization that I was very "damaged" from my childhood. Okay...that's great, but then what.
Hynotherapy is the "then what." It helps you stop wallowing and wasting time in the what ifs and starts helping you realize that you are still alive and that you can change your destiny. That's an amazing realization. Personal courage is involved as well. You need to do what you need to do to get rid of the negative and come into the positive, but because Sasha tapes her sessions, which she personalizes according to an inventory that you complete about yourself, listening to her sessions with you repeatedly really helps change each moment, each day.
I hope that you are seeing someone who really knows what he/she is doing. Sasha became a hypnotherapist because she needed the same healing that she helps others discover for themselves. Hope this response helps. :) I really do.
it has to be written to the person you are working with no 2 people are the same
they also have to relax and trust for it too work
and may take more then one try
it also depends on what you are trying to do
It's not you per se. Could be the therapist. There are many different approches. Don't ever "try" to do aything when you are in a hypnosis session. it will screw it up. Also you might simply not be a good hypnotic candidate.
God speaks against hypnosis, take captive your own thoughts my dear, your not missing out on much.
Hypnosis works on the power of suggestion. You have to be willing to let it work on you, otherwise, well, it doesn't work. So, by the same token, a hypnotist can't actually make you do something you don't wanna do. Hope this helps!
