Why don't I get hangovers anymore? I used to get debilitating ones every time I drank.

I feel a little shaky in the morning after drinking but that's about it. I used to vomit, get diarrhea, have a splitting headache, etc.

I think your body has become used to drinking and has found a way to prevent you from getting a hangover. I think from a medical point of view that's a good thing and many doctor would like to figure out your body's secret. Anyway, be happy about it and have another drink on me.

Its not "a good thing" at all. Alcohol is a poison, no matter how it is glamorised. It kills your liver and brain cells.

I think you've grown so accustomed to the intoxication, that you're not consciously impressed by the effects anymore. That saves you from some of the consequences, but doesn't make it any healthier, I'm afraid.

Its not healthy at all. Millions of brain cells will be killed off and although this person thinks she isn't suffering, her liver certainly will be.

Seriously, I can't believe that the top answer is that Dr.'s will want to know your secret. Doctors already know the secret to this and this is called your tolerance for alcohol has increased, you could be on the road to alcoholism and this is not a good thing. Drinking more means your body learns to tolerate it more, it is the same with any addiction, you have become desensitized to the levels of alcohol. This is a sign of danger! Stop drinking so much! You can have fun without alcohol. And if you think that I am being a boring lecturer then I will lecture you this, alcoholism is a disease. Once you have it then it becomes more difficult to kick. What starts out as fun can end up turning your life into a nightmare. Your body is telling you something.

Wow, that happened to me. I guess it's because I stopped drinking. And after a while I dropped 4 sizes. Think they're connected? Try it, you'll like it.

It's all about what you drink. Red wine and nothing else - you will get a hangover from dehydration and the chemicals in the wine. Something "cleaner" and plenty of water or juice, and a few snacks - no hangover.

could be any number of things (impurities, preservatives, congeners, zinc, acetaldehyde metabolation) remember 25 to 30 % of the population is resistent / immune to hangovers

Wow, deja, graphic description there, that's awesome. Your body had become much more used to booze I am guessing, and you may also be far more hydrated when you start drinking. But I am guessing your body has now adjusted and having large quantities of alcohol in your system is more "normal" for it.
