Why don't men just stop and ask for directions when they are obviously lost?

I never had that problem....I always checked my position often...map and compass. Now it would be G.P.S. nav system either in car or in my right shirt pocket always leashed to me; so I could never loose it. Asking for directions was not an option. Now I don't care who I ask for directions and when... now they get to live after they tell me what I want to know. My advice to you is don't hang around people who are too unsure of themselves to ask for directions. Being A Borderline Personality Disorder person(vicitm?) makes me not care what they think of me. I win either way.

Assuming this is true the most likely cause is that men have been charged with all the responsability they have been taught that they must be the caretakers and providors , the leaders of society. Thease guys just have the weight of the world on their shoulders, thats why men die younger to. It's all over bull **** gender roles ruining peoples lives.

lol, too proud and embarrassed.
I'm a woman, but I will drive like 20 miles out of my way before surrendering to the defeat of giving in to asking directions and looking lame, lol. People always look at you like, "awww, that's so CUTE, she's LOST, lost little woman..." ugh.

They don't want to admit that they are lost. They want to try and be right everytime they drive. But they end up getting even more lost and more stupid for not asking for directions. It's the truth.

Summerwind's got it right. No one wants to be looked down on when they're already having trouble.

I couldn't agree with Rachael more on this, we don't like to admit being wrong very often.

quite often I find asking for directions helps just as much as driving round till you find the place you are after...

But summerwind has it in one...

gotta love these questions that sterotype men....lol

I guess I've never been lost since I am here and know how I got here.....

there is a difference between lost and going a bit out of the way...most men have the ability to get back on track, women just don't have the patience, look at it as a chance to grow....
