Insecurity would be my guess... Feels too much like competition within a relationship- cause that is how men view they world and they can't handle it.

Maybe all guys are not the same, the same as women are not all the same. I reckon interdependence is what is really needed. Seriously. Guys, go ahead and protect us, that is just great, but you still need us too. In a different way. Otherwise, if we weren't different, what's the point of two sexes?

Guys are brought up from birth that you get a job and provide for your family. Ever heard the term "women and children first"? As guys we are brought up protect women and children. If it comes down to it a man will die to protect his family. You see this especially in the military. A man will get a medal after his death, where he died saving his fellow soldiers. When you have a independent women she breaks up this life cycle. Guys don't know what to do so we get upset. This is the short version, but true. Hopes it helps.

If you have been around guys who don't like independent women, you already know those are not for you. It seems you are attracting your opposite and will have to venture outside the box to find men who just like being around you and share some of your interests.
