Resolved Question

Why has the alphabet 26 signs.?

It would be easier if there were only 10 or so? For instance: the c,s and z could be one letter. Or the v,w,f and the p could be one letter. With a bit of luck we only need 5 or six.
It would make life funnier also, I think.

How about no written language altogether? That would be a true challenge...

balboaguy	Posted Nov 3rd, 2009 at 6:47AM yes a good idea. the problem is that the English language is not a pure language and when countries were conquered and language absorbed, so the spelling was also absorbed. as travel has more recently, in history, made the world smaller, we absorb words directly from other countries whose spelling defies our English spelling rules EG ... Italian - taxi, spaghetti, pizza Japanese - sushi, tsunami, French (?) - bikini, picnic, Rated: +1Vote for this!
