Resolved Question

Why has the alphabet 26 signs.?

It would be easier if there were only 10 or so? For instance: the c,s and z could be one letter. Or the v,w,f and the p could be one letter. With a bit of luck we only need 5 or six.
It would make life funnier also, I think.

Yeah, maybe for a week...

How about no written language altogether? That would be a true challenge...

Actually TALKING as a means of communication.

Got my vote. And while they are at it they could change how long a second is so as to make 100 seconds in a minute and 100 minutes in an hour. 10 hours in a day.

Why even talk. We can use the word F*ck for everything. Ever think of that?

yes a good idea.

the problem is that the English language is not a *pure* language and when countries were conquered and language absorbed, so the spelling was also absorbed.

as travel has more recently, in history, made the world smaller, we absorb words directly from other countries whose spelling defies our English spelling rules

EG ... Italian - taxi, spaghetti, pizza
Japanese - sushi, tsunami,
French (?) - bikini, picnic,

Yeah, but you'd have a lot of words with gaps in them.
