Why is BLEACH named what it is named?

You know... Bleach the anime? I don't get where that name comes from. Does anyone know?

The duty of the Shinigami (at least in the beginning of the series anyway) is to guide lost souls to Soul Society and purify Hollows to send them back as well. Bleach is cleaning product after all... so the title could be linked to the 'cleaning' of the souls. Maybe?

MaKali	Posted Sep 9th, 2009 at 2:21PM I gather because Ichigo's hair is orange, like it is bleached. Although, its his natural hair color. I asked my husband and he said in the anime some characters make comments about him bleaching his hair and he calls them stupid. He also read rumors that the creator named it after the Nirvana album, but not sure how true that is. I go with the first. Rated: +1Vote for this!
