It's not. It may feel that way sometimes but don't go looking for a relationship; you don't want to end up with someone who is a jerk.

it isn't such a bad thing. i'm starting to realize that when the old folks are all gone, i won't have a family of my own to take their place. it's worth planning for that day

Who said single is a bad thing? It's not bad being single cause you have no one to boss you around. But it can be a bit depressing being alone all the time.
