Rural areas often tend to be cheaper, but a person would have to own a car and spend a lot on gas. So it really depends on where you live and what sort of job you have.

That has little to do with daily cost of living. It does not explain the cost of housing. Canada spends less on healthcare than the US and Canada does not fund a huge military.

It's true, regardless if the person has the money to buy something or not, if the particular item costs more than it should... it is expensive. Regardless of how much cash you have.
