I remember when I was young, everyone would throw their empty McDonalds bags out the car window with little thought. Littering laws meant you were not supposed to drop your old refrigerator on the highway. Today, if someone litters (at least where I live), they are very discreet about it and most people even try to recycle a little. This change seemed to happen because people began to talk collectively about it. They were also impacted by it - they felt guilt for littering or anger for having to pick up all the garbage in front of the house. I think we remove ourselves from nature, and so fail to relate to wildlife. We buy processed food from the grocery store. Our drugs are all white pills in a green bottle. Our heat is from an invisible pipe that we assume comes from the company that sends us a bill in the mail. This is our culture. We are advancing, see? We live with the belief that the scientists of tomorrow will resolve today's issues. Genetically modified products to increase crop production, etc. etc. So, we have "people" to worry about these things - why should we? We are living in a generation of people across the world that are disassociated. The internet is a means to reestablish these connections. Five people making a difference is a great start. I am the only one that picks up the trash at our playground, so if I have four others, I would be thankful! Keep up the great work.
I couldn't find a cause that matched the ones I prefer.
And when I tried to find one it threw up all kinds of bazaar things.
Maybe I'm just not good at the user interface,
or maybe the way to create one's selections could be improved.
As an Australian, I found the choices made a lot of assumptions that people would know and recognise the "brand" of the organisations on offer.

It's all over the web .
My concern for wildlife protection is something I deal with in day to day real life, not on a website. I'm sure there are many others who feel the same way. I like visiting EP to be entertained. I deal with serious issues face-to-face.
Most people have very little regard to the protection of the environment, because its something no in their control. Anything thats not with their reach of control, or something they feel that they can not write about, people will not talk about it. The stories here are usually more personal.
