25 million Americans cant read. 75 million without jobs. 85% of kids failing n schools. Whose to blame for lack of funding care & right teaching for our nation? What happens to the ones who struggle to make ends meet just so they or their kids can go to school? What about those in student loan debt? Where is this free govt money thats being promoted to sign up for? Is there such thing as having a successful life outside degrees?

Higher education doesn't mean that a person needs a degree or even college. There are many skills that a person can obtain through training and make a good living with.
The main problem today is that we are simply giving a diploma to anyone who is registered in school for twelve or more years. They don't have to learn anything, they often don't have to even show up for class. We pay welfare mothers to have kids and then don't require them to educate those kids.
Its not an issue of funding... its an issue of low expectations. We accept that we are graduating kids who can't read. Several years ago, a girl who was valedictorian of her high school class could not pass the very easy Louisiana High School exit exam.... she had to take the exam multiple times before she was given a passing grade.
There is nothing wrong with having to struggle to obtain education... I did, and I'm better off for the experience.

Congrats on your achievement. I disagree with something u said. Moms r not always the blame. What about the dads? Where r they? Men r to blame for these kids & moms on welfare. Males gets to leave mom gets blamed. Thats crazy! Not all welfare families have dumb kids or problem children in school. There are some that are honor roll students( mines). Just looking at the grads from high school yesterday was an eye opener. Many did graduate with honors who are on welfare & ssi with their parents/ guardians. College students who didnt graduate had to retake remedial classes before taking college courses. (Me)
Graduates from college r not doing as great as those who already have careers outside degrees.
It would b nice to have more ways of learning than just one(now teachers dont teach like they did back n the day).

Blame who you want, but the mothers that I am talking about have sole custody of the kids, collect welfare and SSI for the kids..... they need to make the kids go to school. They simply don't.
Graduating with honors from high school means very little today. The standards are set low.
College grads with meaningful degrees are doing well today. Its the people who major in useless or in low demand fields that are finding few jobs or low paying jobs.

Well. My only friend who didn't go to uni was mortgage free at 23. But she was the smartest. Married up.
Our systems different. We don't have to pay our uni loans till after we start making 45 or 50 grand.
