Why is it so hard to pick out simple things these days such as deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.?

Some stores literally have entire aisles dedicated to one of each of these products. Having choices is good but all the thousands of products out there can make a simple task so complicating. The aisles in the store stay so congested while shoppers are comparing brands and reading labels trying to decide which toothpaste out of 2 thousand types that they want.

I too, use the same as I've always used. I have no problems with it and it works fine, so why change it? Original Crest Toothpase, is a good example....tastes good, works fine, whitens my teeth and keep the cavities away. I don't need a toothpaste with all these new fandangled things in it that costs triple the amount of my original stuff. Just a money making gig, that's all it is.

I do stick with the same brands I've used for years but now and then to be adventurous I'll stray outside that little box of comfort.

This is interesting you brought this up because I was talking with the local store owner about three weeks ago as to WHY he carries 6 different brands of black olives and each has two or three different size cans with them. It takes up a lot of space on his shelves in his small store and you would think that he could use that space for a little more variety in a canned food. He simply told me ... it was like that when he bought the store and never thought of changing. So I bought my store brand can of medium sized black olives like I always do and brought them home for my homemade pizza. Proably be lost for a little while without the medium sized can of black olives of that particular brand, but I probably would survive. :)

I have MY brands that I like,........until they change them or quit making them. Then It's too many choices, can't find what I want, I'm not a happy camper when they change something or stop making something I like using.
