The rocks and soil this very planet is made of have been very slowly wearing away into the seas and rivers depositing sodium, chloride, nitrates and other chemicals that form mineral salts and the fast flowing rivers deposit the tiny amount of these chemicals in the sea so thats why natural water other than the sea and slow rivers are fresh water.
