When you are dealing with scarce items, you cannot really know what the value is until it is gone. In the same sense as selling an old car or a house in the country, there is really no way to exactly value it until someone else buys it.

Because it is all too easy to take people or things for granted, and believe that they will always be there. We just don't like to face the reality that life is constantly changing, and that what we have today may be snatched away from us tomorrow.
