What a shock, they do that in person too.

no one said they didn't, but it's easier to do it online than in person.

if you wouldn't shop for a used car on-line, why would you seek a potential mate from there?

Yes OK. 4 years ago I was looking for a travel companion to go to NZ on holiday with. I advertised on 'dating direct' and had a few time-wasters but on the second actual date I met my GF who I am still with. My situation is complicated (not my fault) but she said I was the best she'd met. Apparently she had to kiss a lot of frogs along the way......... I had previously chatted to a lovely Geordie lady but distance meant that we both were not very keen to take it any further. However I think we also would have made a good team. Don't be paranoid - go to a date with an open mind. be careful what you reveal about yourself on the first date, but don't leave the shutters down or you'll never get any results!

Because you never know just who it is you are dating... Most tend to chose not to revile things about themselves. And that not relieving is not a bad thing in itself, but it does lead to major gaps in one's personality.

Because the person you meet is almost certain not to look anything like their photo.
