Yup---and they probably paid a team of consultants and designers half a million dollars to come up with that "new" name.

Exactly. Star Trek & The Twilight Zone (the originals), The Outer Limits, Dr. Who (original)....action, adventure, babes---and just like baseball there is not crying in Science Fiction, or hand wringing, or long useless conversations about feelings...please. Next James Bond will be a woman--he's already gay.

Look up the lists of sci-fi writers on line, esp the high achievers, and you'll discover there's plenty of innovation still occurring.

I hope you are using 'your' in the editorial sense, because this is certainly nothing to do with me.....I HATE IT.

It's cheaper to produce those crap reality shows than to produce or even lease actual dramas. Plus they have that fear of black-and-white, which eliminates a lot of the material they used to broadcast late at night. They're about as much Sci-Fi these days as A&E is either artistic or entertaining.

Yes, I have notice many many many TV productions that now use the 'vacuous and endless dialogue + shot all the same room' formula. SciFi, SitComs, Reality, whatever....I HATE IT SO MUCH!!!!! I have had to switch to British TV where they still seem to have many great programs of every genre and old re-runs are great too.

Have you SEEN the reimaged Battlestar Galactica? There's nothing pussified about that show.

If you mean the one where you get to see Edward James Almos from 2 inches away and all his poc marks; the one where 60% or more of the show is people pacing around a room and nervously and endlessly discussing some event that you never actually see; and one where the cameraman apparently has ADHD--I think it's a soap opera. You could shoot most of each episode in a garage.

Alright, then please share with us all an example of what YOU classify as good, non-pussified sci-fi.
