Because the Palestinians resorted to bombing groceries and school buses to make their case.
When you strap dynamite to your butt and go into public markets to kill women and school children you kind of lose the moral highground.
Frankly, if Israel bombed the whole of the Palestinian nation flat, the biggest complaint in the UN would probably be about the refugees who made it out before the bombs dropped.
you asked. this is a world where we've all had our buildings knocked down, our trains bombed, our groceries shot up and our kids kidnapped by some group that got to be violent rather than working with the UN and international community. In the end, when you go rogue you are more likely to be viewed as a criminal than Robin Hood.
I don't quite understand. Are you stating because of terror attacks the entire Palestinian population do not qualify for human rights?
I wondered the same.
Pretty sad if she is.
I'm saying because they support terrorism and terrorist leadership they have lost their footing as a nation. It has been said and is worth repeating that if the Palestinians and other moslems dropped their arms the would be peace, but if Israeld dropped their defenses there would be no more Israel. Israel has had it and they put the Palestinians in a box. I tend to think it's a pressure cooker and that will backfire much as policies on germany backfired post WWI and Iraq backfired after the first Iraq war. Sometimes when there's a bad element that refuses to change, putting it on hold only makes that hard element uglier. If you instead just destroy that bad element entirely, you're ultimately ahead and have limited the pain and suffering. As an example, anyone care to argue that if Bush I had kept rolling in the 90s and simply taken out Hussien then we might not have had to take the same ground twice in the 2000s?
Underconstruction - there's a method to what I say - it's not blind hatred. War and murder are the ultimate denial of human rights. Palestinians have as a nation endorsed the denial of human rights to any jew in Israel. It's written right into their laws. You can't negotiate with that You have to destroy it and start over.
So, Israel just came along and occupied Palestinian territory without committing any atrocities?
Israelis are terrorists.Blocking Gaza & restricting Palestinians are ILLEGAL and Israel has no qualms about killing civilians.
Actually, jews had been in the area for eons, but more importantly they were given the land by the UN as a place to park their people again after their near extinction. As for the "no qualms" - you know they have phone banks to call Palestinians before they do military incursions there. Fair warning - often done because there are missiles coming into Israel from Palestinian territories. Do you think the Palestinians that strapped dynamite to themsleves called the Israelis to warn them when they were going to bomb them or drop missiles on them? Doubtful. As for restricting the Palestinians - it's hard not to notice that once they did it, there bombing activity in israel dropped to about zero. There's no doubt that the Palestinians go the short end of this just as the Jews go the short end under Hitler and the indians got the short end under the pilgrims and the tribes of south america got the short end under the Spanish. The big difference is that the one body responsible for directing what's fair - the UN - made the mandate. A little more the Israelis took for themselves after they were once again pulled into a war, but if you know the area there it's pretty obvious why they took it. Self preservation is important to them so they needed to take away the ability fo the enemy to drop stuff on their heads. The rhetoric that Israel is the oppressor here ignores the fact that there was UN intervention - not American, not israeli, but the United Nations - that created the country. It's not like the jews came from South America and took up shop either. if you look under mosques in the area you will find jewish holy sites. (The Wailing Wall and the Golden Dome Mosque built on top of it being the most famous example.)
No need to pray for me Forwardboy. Not at all religious and my views are shared with enough to know that they are certainly not out of the mainstream. I think I'm a little more vocal about them - but bring up names like Yassir Arafat and peace prize and crowds will laugh so hard there won't be a dry seat in the house. If you want to pray, pray for peace. Not for Israelis or Palestinians - but for peace.
Because if you oppose them you're a nazi. Same as opposing any minority actually.
Because it has the support of the United States of israel, as I like to call it.
Guilt, desire to keep a toehold in the region with oil interests, possibly some creepy desire to see the apocalypse happen.
Also there's, some misguided belief that the Israelis are as purehearted in their intentions as superman, and are totally blameless in this conflict. Let's be honest here, they're equally to blame. It's just like Northern Ireland, Some people just can't let a good religious feud fade away into obscurity.
What's happeing in the middle east actually has nothing to do with religion. It's mostly about land.
Anyone who knows the history of the middle east knows that. I'm talking about the reasons why people support israel regardless of the things that happen. Many people think it's about muslims hating jews, that's not it, it's just a good way to get their respective bases fired up. It's also about water as well, Israel carved out a country with the help of a global team. They didn't care much about the consequences, that the land belonged to the arabs that lived there, and certainly not that being oppressed is no excuse to opress. The israeli argument for the land is patently ridiculous, plus think how you'd feel if the English established a country in the middle of New York. Simply because it used to be their land and hey, we're not using that particular section. That wouldn't fly at all, so why did Israel get founded?
yall need better representation in Palestine......Israel has better propaganda
I don't know dude, but I'm sure you know you'll need a giant fire extinguisher.
Kinda simple.. Israel wants the land and natural resources.. Other countries wants the share... There are chances of religious things but I'm not sure.. Oneday, those supporting countries will start war against Israel..
The same international community who stood by when the British (with the League of Nations, and the U.S.'s tacit approval) basically placed Israel in Palestine's backyard ? Long before there were any suicide bombers, or terrorist attacks, and pretty much dared the people already living there to ob<x>ject ?
Why is Palestine still resorting to destroying Israeli lives?
It works both ways. From what I have read, Israel are simply fighting back. I don't believe they have instigated anything.
They didn't take that land - it was given to them by the United Nations after they were almost made extinct during WWII. They did take a small stretch of land that their enemies were using to shell them - but the spoils of war - one that they were kind of forced into - allows for things like this. It's not exactly like Israel could defend themselves by giving that piece back.
The International community has double standards, the Zionists are a law unto themselves and if the UN finds them guilty of crimes against humanity the USA uses it's power of veto and that is the end of the matter.
There are a ton of Moslem countries that gang up on Israel. It's kind of telling that you have countries like pre-invasion Iraq that were never smacked with human rights violations, but it happens to Israel all the time. It's not a double standard to have th one kid on the block who gets ganged up on be protected by the adults in the neighborhood.
The question was specific in as much that it specified Palestinians not muslims in general, the palestinians do not have any military capability, unless you classify rock throwing children as such.
I dont think any counry should have ever got involved with niether side that conflicts roots go deep
Why is anyone except Israel responsible for Israels actions?
That's one of the biggest problems in the world: People expected to answer for others actions and choices.
Israel has a lot of control over its allies.
That's true - that's why Obama went on The View rather than visit with netanyahu and Israel is condemned for defending themselves by the UN every other week. Pull the other one - it has bells on it.
Riiiiight. What about Israels attack on the Gaza aid fleet and then the attempted cover up with falsified video footage? Israel is just as guilty if not more so. They had school children sign rockets they were firing into Gaza. Now they want to start an erroneous war with Iran.
Beautiful way to indoctrinate your children into war.
Falsified footage. Where's your evidence. Those ships were told not to go there and did. If Israel sunk a few I wouldn't care. Tell me, were you as outraged when the Syrians attacked the Red Cross there a few weeks before 9/11? Or is your outrage selective and based on conspiracy theories you can't support?
It was global news that the video was falsified. It appears your outrage as well as your ability to define fact is selective as you had just stated that you didnt care if they had sunk a few MEDICAL AID boats.
