Why isn't there more community theaters, and live theatrical productions?

It is obvious that America has talented people. So, why aren't there more community theatrical productions? I would really like to know. Are there are any philanthropists out there who would be willing to help establish a community theater out here in Rancho Cordova, California? It would be a pilot project.

    No idea..I would love to go see some Shakespearean plays...performed by well known Shakespearean actors..watching it get butchered would drive me insane. I am not saying I could do it, but some people really can't do it but do it anyway :/

    My kids and I go to theater twice a year and it's always a wonderful experience. More often than that though is impossible as it is really expensive
