i don't think that is the case. a lot of skinny people get picked on and called names. Most people assume that fat people are lazy, unhealthy, and lack control over their lives. however obesity is often a sign of much bigger problems. since most people eat for reason that even they are unaware like depression, feelings of/ or fear of abandonment just to name a few.

who said it was okay to be skinny? I am. Currently harassed about it everyday. "You're too skinny." "Are you eating?" which is extremely rude. How many times do you hear from your friends "You're too fat."?

Who says it isn't? It's fine as long you are pretty healthy.

It depends on your definition of fat. If we are talking about a few pounds overweight? Fine. But if we are talking more than a few pounds, it gets very expensive. Fat people cost the US an estimated 100 billion dollars a year. This is between their increased health costs and loss of labor. Those who are overweight take more sick days and do less work then their slimmer companions. Also, their burden on insurance companies is immense, raising the prices for all the rest of us. They cost about as much as a chain smoker. But the difference is that smokers die sooner and the obese seem to keep on going. It's unhealthy and costs a ton of money, that is why it isn't okay to be fat.

Life's journey is easier as one carries so much less load.

Because being 400 lbs puts a ton of stress on your body organs. But you can be naturally skinny *shrugs* I never meet anyone who is naturally 400 lbs and in good health.
I get a ton of flak for being "skinny" (Im 5,3 and 110 lbs) But this is me! I can't change it, and not interested because I am healthy 100%! If I was unhealthy and failing blood test and cholesterol test - I would change my diet...but I'm not!
We should be more caring to health then how a person looks.

Being super skinny or super fat is not healthy. However, society sees skinny as sexy (although for the life of me I don't know why) and fat as ugly.

Depends on the time and the culture - many prefer meat on the bones whereas the US is obsessed with unrealistically thin
