Why pay for full price for white goods, before Xmas?

I get mad when we pay full price for goods before Christmas when the following day they are half price in a sale! It drives me mad with exasperation.
I always charge up batteries, open boxes and check whatever I can unless I have to open a box that cannot be opened easily. Nothing worse than buying a present for a child and they can't use it because it broken, or it needs charging up for 24 hours before hand.

Yes, Christmas is just a big con. Once your children are old enough explain to them that you can afford more for them in January. They will be all for your leaving it till after christmas. We do it with our children all the time. Get them something small for christmas day and anything that can wait for the sales, can wait.

I have worked in retail for many, many years now, too many to mention, and I am one of the many employees who get to mark down all of the merchandise that you speak of the day after Christmas. Most of the items that get marked down are like "gifty" items or seasonal items that the store wants to get rid of that didn't sell during the year to make room for the next seasonal items. And trust me at inventory time, counting all this seasonal stuff isn't fun either. It's easier to sell it 1/2 off than it is to have to store it for another year till the season rolls around again. I shop for xmas all year long but the year end savings makes up for paying full price I guess. Pretty much everything gets marked down at one time or another in a store.

Well maybe it's because you buy your stuff the same time as everyone else... If you owned a shop you'd be angry that you had to drop your prices after Christmas in order to make any sales.

To support the economy. Why do you hate your country?

Indeed - why??? The only reason I can think of is that "what you wanted may not be there after Xmas".
