People strive for something bigger and when they get it they want more.
It's a vicious circle.
It is ingrained into our minds that we have to have more, more money, more things, more food, we are a nation of individuals who must have more.
The mind is never satisfied,it always wants more and more,it is greed unsatisfied.
US spend tons of money to develop the space pen.
Russians juz used the pencil.
Nobody is ever satisfied with what they have and that includes very wealthy people. This is because the ego (which is made up) continually wants things. Look at the absurdity of how people worship little metal discs and bits of paper. In Truth, what people really want is joy, love and peace but unfortunately no material possession will provide this.
Because the only constant thing in the world is change.
Because they keep looking at others things. Then their own false sense of entitlements set it...
Because the people next door have more!
they are always comparing there lives with someone else's.
We need to have goals to continue to live. Without goals, we stagnate. Becoming too satisfied with what we have leaves us with nothing to strive for.
