Because what people most desire is group acceptance, and it's easier to find people who accept you because you agree with them than to find people who value your independence of mind.

Because of human laziness & no one wanting to be "the weirdo" that sticks out & is ostracized by "the herd".

sometimes these people just naturally think alike, for some people if more then 1 person says the same thing it seems more easy to believe and follow, were social creatures we hav the need to fit in no one wants to be left out, alot of people dont want to start things them selves being leader can be hard and stressful,i can go on and on its different for every situation and person plus i dont think every crowd should be seen in a negative light

Since people often look to others for clues on how to behave, whether rational or just as often irrational, this propensity is called the "herd effect" or "crowd psychology" or a "mob mentality" . . .

they dont have confidence in who they are and what they want and are too afraid to stand out or draw any attention to themselves..so they follow anyone else that is hoping they'll figure it out sooner or later or blend in till they disappear!?

It's easier to stay with the crowd. People fear that if they poke their heads out of the crowd too far they'll lose it.
Welcome to life.
