You shouldn't, because it doesn't exist :D
Christians just use it as a way to get their kids to behave well... Same thing as around christmas time "Santa's watching! You don't want coal for christmas, do you little Johnny?"
"God's watching! You don't want to go to hell now, do you little Johnny?"

Look around. . . Both Good and Evil exist. I'd like to believe that even though Life isn't fair, that there is a place souls of human beîngs go to. . .according to how they lived their lives on earth. Otherwise whats the point of Justice?

To make the decision easier for you...

Take a look at all the descriptions of hell.

Most of them depict endless suffering in some form. Usually the suffering is childish and spiteful. Burning forever, surrounded by demons and sinners...

Really, it's obvious these descriptions are meant to frighten us into being "good" or at least obedient.

Besides if anyone wanted to have create a hell could they do worse then our current plane of existence.

PS: Threatening someone with the "suffering of hell" is bullying. It's mean sadistic and cruel to fool people with this old guff. Playing mind games that cause someone to suffer needlessly is the lowest act in my book.

Because the Bible says that hell is as real as heaven.

You should believe in Hell a)because it exists, and b) because we can't just go around believing in some wonderful, perfect place you go after existence. Heaven and Hell both exist. You believe what you want, but I know they do, the Bible says so, and Hell is the place that Satan and the Fallen will be cast into at the end of times. So again you believe what you want, but there's your answer.

Is it supported by enough evidence? Believe what you can support.

If you believe in God, you believe in Satan. If you believe in heaven, you believe in hell.

Hell is described as tormenting, gnashing of teeth, so there is some sort of pain or suffering going on there. If it has to do with burning? Not sure, but just think if you ended up seperated from God for all eternity. You found yourself on some distant planet, it's cold, dark, and nothing but dirt and rocks. Don't you think after awhile you'll start to hate yourself for not listening to the warnings that were given to you at the time? You'll start to endlessly cry, and ask yourself why didn't I listen, why oh why. I think after awhile this in itself would be very tormenting. So you can call that a sort of a hell in itself. But then again, hell would be Satan's domain and can and will do what ever he wants with you. Is that what you want to be at the mercy of Satan and his demons? Do you know them that well that your willing to take a chance at spending an eternity with them? Especially when they haven't ever told you what their intentions are concerning you?

God has said what he has set out to do. It's called the truth, and that's why Christians go up to you and try to talk to you to get you to see the truth. The truth being, that Jesus came and died for you so that not all shall perish, but have everlasting life. There will be two deaths, one physical and one spiritual.

God means exactly what he says. He doesn't half talk about anything. He's straight up about everything so you should take it that way.

Hell is a place after death where people who chose not to have a relationship with God, go. God doesn't force people to go to heaven. The 'punishment' aspect is really just an eternity without God - the fulfillment of the persons wish.

Belief in Hell can spur some people on to make the good decisions in life (which are usually the more difficult), but whether you believe in it or not is immaterial. If you choose a relationship with God and act on this choice, you will go to heaven. If you don't choose this then you will go to Hell.

Someone once said to Padre Pio (now St Pio of Petraclena) 'I don't believe in Hell'. He replied "Don't worry, you will when you get there".

hi"
hell is here on earth so to speak ,we are all souls who aspire to a higher energy ,there is no old man or energy form that is keeping track of every little misdeed that you do while in human form ,hell is used for control purposes ,you make your own hell by actions, thoughts ,each and every day .
some religions say you will be damned simply by dancing /playing cards /wearing skirts ,all sorts of ways to mind control ,if anyone believes simply by dancing listening to rock and roll is going to doom you forever my gosh what kind of a GOD would that be ?
as a spiritual form we all KNOW what is right and wrong and some souls do indeed do horrible things to others .the truth is we should strive to do onto others as they would do to us and with that simply thought all deeds and actions would come from a perfect place within our souls .
we make our own hell and true peace comes from our own trying to be decent and live the best we can .
there is no burning inferno ....

I always wondered if Hell wasn't a translation error. The Jehovah Witnesses have a "Sheol" as a word for "Hell". Sheol was a place outside a city where they burned dead bodies instead of burying them, which would explain the you are going to fire after death, and if there were enough bodies [before medicine, what do you think?] the fires would always be burning, which would explain the eternal part.
If you are afraid enough you'll pay someone who says they can save you from the boogey man. Steven Hawking, maybe the smartest man alive said these concepts are believed by people who are like children afraid of the dark.
Why would a creator make beings so imperfect they'd have to suffer eternally for mistakes? Doesn't say much for craftsmanship, does it?
I believe in karma and reincarnation until final liberation is achieved, not eternal punishment.

You might see it as the hell of your own pain and despair in the absence of a trancendant spiritual integrity.
