    Call it lesson learned.

    Each person have a role to play in someone's life and you don't have to accept them and sometimes you have to accept them. The difference is when you have friends to choose from, the choice is yours.

    Same reason some people aren't down with Medical Marijuana. Everybody thinks they are right.
    There's a cure though. Yep. You get a script and you smoke it.

    either because of some unconscious signal of your own, or because something about you attracts them or just because of random connections - or any combination of the above

    no - but you can take some control over the number and kind of attraction - and especially how you deal with them - reflect on what is common to most of them and then on why such people choose you
