It seems that way at first glance. But the God of the Old Testament also gave plenty of grace, and forgiveness. Let's not forget, also, that the Bible is a history book. And a lot happened in the Old Test. compared to the New Test. The New only really is a small slice of time.

I was not offended one bit. That is a great question. And people who follow Jesus should be grateful for intelligent questions like yours.
There is another aspect to this. The New Testament also features a Jesus who gets angry at people all the time. And he show his wrath when the money changers are using his temple in a wrong way.
Now consider this: What if all this global weather change is not what the scientists think it is. What if it is the beginning of God's wrath upon the people of this generation? What if? What if it's a wake up call for the people of today? I'm not saying it is, but sometimes I wonder.
