Because counseling is a job, not a hobby. There are counselors who do their best to treat every person as an individual, but in many cases counseling is quite alike to what happens at a call centre. There is a worked out flow-chart-like plan they have to "guide you through", which ideally leads to you purchasing something, but more usually to you hanging up on them. They don't actually care, because they aren't emotionally invested in making you feel better for you, they are invested in making money.
