Why would a guy in his early 30's want to be friends with a woman in her late 50's?

Especially when the males' mother is still alive and they get along well so he wouldn't be seeking a maternal relationship

Friends or lovers? Either one I think is possible. People are individuals not numbers.

Why does it matter what their ages are?

Also, have you SEEN Helen Mirren?
I'm 27...
and I think she's HOT!

Would you be asking this question if the man was in his fifties and the woman in her thirties? Just wondering...

The same reason he would want to be friends with any one - common interests, respect and trust.

Why would age have anything to do with being friends?

Uh, because age isn't important especially in a friendship... the only aspect I can think of is she probably has some more experience so it might actually be advantageous. But hey, if for whatever reason you don't want to be friends, just don't. Nobody's forcing you (hopefully!)

Maybe women his age or younger hold no attraction for him. I agree with S.S.

many, many reasons. at 30 he still has a lot to learn sexually...believe it or not. an older woman has the experience and can have FUN without all of the hangups of a 20 or 30 something. will not be looking for a daddy, has job situation under control, knows what she is looking for which is not necessarily about wining and dining or getting married to someone that is immature. check out some sites for mature women (or 50's if you prefer) and explain why you would not want to take advantage of being with such attractive women and sometimes hot wives. if that doesn't do it for you then i will send you a photo of me and my boytoy(33)...was 31 when we first met and see each other for about a week or so each year. might say also that he is improving with age. and...retirement has nothing to do with hot sex. thank you

Most likely because he finds things lacking in women his own age. Maturity does reap its rewards, both physically and mentally.
I personally have always dated older women and found them almost without exception, more self assured , poised and in general more interesting than some of my own age.

Because the gent is evolved/matured and the lady has it going on. Silly age-ist issues!

Maybe because he values the maturity that a woman in her 50's brings. A woman in her 50s can laugh easier, is more relaxed and has nothing to prove. She has no expectations and has perfected herself as to knowing what she desires. Why wouldn't a man at any age want to be friends with this type of woman?

Either sex or loneliness.

Maybe because you are just interesting to him and he likes what he sees in you. Maybe you ought to look in the mirror again and realize that at fifty you don't look as bad as you think you do. I know some really beautiful women that are over 60...
