Men desire to protect the women, ensuring that his ***** have the best chance of survival in the woman, while the woman's desire is to ensure that the best man with the best genetics will have the best chance of impregnating her. It may be not the answer you desire, but once you understand evolutionary sexual biology you will easily find the answer.

My guess is because we feel pain or discomfort if they are not satisfied. During high school band camp, I remember feeling so desperate for water that I would have paid a thousand dollars for a sip if I could only end that awful feeling of dehydration.

The reason I believe why my physical desires are so intense is because I have always been aware of my body and my emotions. Physical desire is a natural feeling for humans. From childhood to the elderly, people have a physical desire to be touched and hugged and acknowledged. It is an important part of the human condition.

I have been blessed with the awareness of my body and my mind and what they need.

Interesting that it's not only my sexual physical desires. I really enjoy physical activity of almost any kind. When I was a collegiate athlete it was almost as physically satisfying to play a sport as to have sex. In a different way mind you, but almost as satisfying. I guess it goes hand in hand with a brutally high libido.

I think that brother Starhawk is on to something. From the most basic sub-atomic levels of the universe to the ends of a cosmos measured in millions of light-years, things are attracted to one another and thus give form to reality.

On a biological level, sexual attraction is the fuel that drives reproduction and over time, evolution. Ultimately, the intense feelings of sexual attraction that all living organisms experience is Life's longing for itself. Otherwise, why would something as ugly as a bullfrog want to make bullfrogs? Then again, to a bullfrog, another bullfrog is a thing of beauty.
